Jordan International Oil Shale Symposium, Jordan 7-9th May 2012


Dear Colleague,

The Natural Resources Authority (NRA) of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, along with the Colorado School Of Mines and the Oil Shale Companies investing in Jordan are pleased to announce the inaugural Jordan International Oil Shale Symposium (JIOSS) taking place at the Kempinski Hotel Ishtar, Dead Sea, Jordan 7-9th May 2012.

JIOSS will bring international co-operation to the region to support the evaluation of oil shale opportunities and management of the limitations in utilisation. Gathering key players in the energy industry, investors, oil shale working groups, policy makers, academics, geologists and engineers, the JIOSS will be a vital and significant meeting of oil shale stakeholders working towards beneficial oil shale development in the region.
 
Call for Papers
If you would like to be involved in this event as a speaker and have a hot and relevant topic we would like to hear from you! We are currently inviting papers for consideration at the Symposium* under the following topic areas:
 
 1)Oil Shale Resources & Opportunities
 2)Strategies & Policies
 3)Resource Assessment
 4)Processing
 5)Commercialisation
 6)Environment
 7)Oil Shale Economics & Social Dialogue
 8)Other
 9)Post symposium workshops, offering a more in-depth and hands on approach to practical applications in the area of assessments, modelling and Commercialisation

Poster Submission
Posters on a diverse array of topics will be displayed throughout the event in the exhibition and networking areas.

We are currently inviting proposals for poster presentations focusing on topics related to resource assessment, geology & stratigraphy, geochemistry, processing and environmental and social studies.

Authors of short listed posters will be invited to participate in a poster session at the conference, and abstracts will be highlighted on the JIOSS website.

Deadline for submitting a poster outline is 15th January 2012.
